here's an email I wrote to our excomm about irvine's interchapter competiton.. or is it ours? they thought of the idea and are pushing it on other chapters. wTf? i think thats complete bullshit. here's my email:
anyone else think this is dumb if WE host this? Biased or not, we'd be basically taking over all of the work, responsibility, time, money, and headaches of someone else's passing idea. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been thought out very much, looking at their "call for help" email below.
It's like me asking USC to host sectionals, and to do all of the planning, marketing, and executing of this conference.
I just think we have better things to concentrate on, we've got alot going for us right now, and alot of stuff that we are working on for rush week (in a few weeks) and the new quarter. We don't need to step up and host this, especially since its someone else's "oh, wouldn't it be cool if we did this" flighty thought.

This is Kelly from Rho Rho chapter at UCI. I'm emailing about an interchapter dance competition. A brother at the Rho Pi chapter came up with the idea. His name is Richard. He's chairing the event. Interchapter involvement would be great. Right now all we've decided on is to have the event in May. We still need a chapter to host it, so if your chapter is interested please let him know. He would love any suggestions or ideas for the event. Let him know what you want, where you want it, when's a good date/time to have it. Just about anything you could think of, let him know.
