After $39, 2200 Super slick Faulken tires, pallets full of brake pads and shoes, I leave Mazda Rev It Up with a Project Gotham Racing for Xbox, a hat, a “Bronze Medal” pin, a poster, and a smile. It was great! We raced the practice courses and performance clinics, got to sit in the new RX-8, and put the pedal all the way down to the metal of cars that weren’t our own. We drove the MX5 Miata, Protégé, MPV, and of course, the new Mazda6. The practice courses included clinics like the stop-and-turn in Classic L turns and slalom maneuvers. These clinics gave us a taste of what we were up against in the competition course, where we raced against EVERYONE and their moms… well pretty much. Our times are up against everyone in the nation who competes as well, you can see how people did at www.mazdarevitup.com. I didn’t do as well as I hoped of course, I ran a 40 second lap, while the best was a 34… I ran the miata harder than the 6.. too bad the 6 race was the one that counted. It was fun tho, thanks to Ali for telling me about it! It let me realize just how weak my car really is, going from a 4-banger to 220 HP V6 and back down to a 4. So sad! It was a fun day tho, especially when all of us were in the minivan tearing it up! Jayson even got a big black X on his credentials, so he was banned from racing anymore! Ahahha! I wish I had an X on mine.
Initiation yesterday went well.. 38 pledges were there, plus another 12 expected at the make-up on Tues. That makes a starting count of 50 for the new neil dutta pledge class! And they look like good ones too! AND diversity! Yes! Diversity! AND the ratio is 1:1! Wow, we ARE changing aren’t we!
After the interchapter recess yesterday, ron came by and he helped me rip my netflix dvds.. boy is it complicated! But I finally got The Ring done and today did Goldmember… tonite will be Signs before we send it in and get more of the movies in the queue. Thanks to ron for the help! I think the next one is sweet home Alabama.. yea I kno.. cheesy..
