bowling was ok today, 145, 120, 142.. after talking to Sandy from ADT, i realized that after comming to this same bowling alley for close to two years, comming almost every week, all i really have to show for it is about a 30-or-so point increase in my average game. i wonder how much money ive really spent at this place bowling. jeez. or maybe i shouldnt know.
the meeting went ok today, im talking about the active forum.. i dont want to hear anything about excomm being actives too so they should have been able to come. it was good that they werent there. besides, excomm (or some members rather) talk enough shiet so they mite take the forum personally. the two main things that came out of the hour discussion were: (1) people talk shiet all over the place, and (2) actives dont support their brothers in the fraternity like they should.
my responses: for (1), people are always gonna talk. APO loves to talk. why do u think there is so much dissention and shiet talking behind everyones backs? its cuz shiet talking DOESNT DO ANYTHING FOLKS. think about it. how are things going to get resolved/explained/discussed/fixed if the person it involves doesnt know about it? how are people gonna come around to a group that they know shiet talks about eachother? lets keep it constructive here guys. shit. we dont need anymore drama and shiet talking. it doesnt get us anywhere.
and (2), i think it was Chi who made the point that APO is adjusting to all of the changes that are going on, and that its gonna take time for the actives to respond with the enthusiasm and support that we were hoping for, esp. with this idea of families. it makes sense to me, we've got all these changes including the new family system, reqs and dues being more enforced, enhanced historian and SAA roles, Parli-pro, etc etc.. i think im trying to justify the active's actions i guess, since im a friggin active and i still come out to stuff.. hell, im a family head for god sakes! ive got the enthusiasm and support for APO and everyone in it.. why doesnt everyone else? or at least more people than it is now? APO can't be something to do for the qtr.. its a commitment that people have to make if they choose to be a part of it. how good is it to be in APO, but a half-ass active? i dont see anything good comming out of doing ANYTHING half-assed.
thanks to the 10 or-so actives who came out to the active forum, its a shame that we've got so many of them but only 10 or-so really care about it. thanks to mick and jason for calling it... good job guys.
