Bowling today wasn’t as horrible as the last week’s, but it was still pretty poopie. Bleh.. its ok, it was fun tho.. I think it has a lot to do with the lanes. The place in Anaheim had different surfacing, and it got me a 206, this place in Inglewood its tough to get close to that. Ive only done it a couple of times. Jeez. You’d think after almost 2 years of bowling every week id be at least in the low 200s at least. Its gotta be the lanes… yea, that’s it.
The meeting today went well. Or should I say the Forum. Ray W had an hour to do his thing, and it was the most productive hour that we’ve had in a while. Got a lot of things said, but I think there was still a lot of things that were not said… things that could have offended someone or someones. Hell, things were said that offended me in the hour of talking. Breakdown of the family system? I don’t think so. Theres nothing that has broken down in our family system. Especially in ours. I think some people are expecting too much from the family system and think we are “supposed” to do stuff that we aren’t supposed to. If people don’t want to come, they wont want to come. We are here to provide the opportunity for the family to do things together. Its not MY job to get people to participate.. its not MY job to encourage pledges and actives to come out to our events. I don’t see anyone else encouraging family participation, on either side. People don’t know where to point fingers, so they point them elsewhere. I don’t think that the family system is breaking down. Its more like we are building it up. It was said that people aren’t doing what they should be doing. Lazy? Maybe. But not our family system. Its new, its fresh, its novel. People still have to get used to all these changes. Theres nothing breaking down here.
Ray hit it on the head when he said that it all comes down to respect. Respect gives rise to solving all of the other problems we are having: communication, pledge-active interaction, all of that. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Nominations were today too.. pretty rushed, but they got done. But people need to think more about running for something, not just on the spur of the moment, nominating just anyone that comes into their head. That’s the sure way of fucking things up. So think, people. Think about who would be great for a position and nominate because you really think they would be an asset for APO, not to just get someone’s name up there. No one should be declining if people really thought about their nominations. Think.
Watching 3rd Rock now, im glad I got back in time to catch it… I love this show!
