Me, jane, arlo, and korina went to SJSU's career fair today.. actually we SNUCK into it thru the back door and up the elevator since you had to be a student to get in, and they were checking IDs everywhere else. One of the companies I could actually talk to (there must have been thousands of people there today) was FBI, and the girl (not bad looking either haha) was telling me about the cool stuff they were looking for in the normal support 9-5 jobs there and the special agent positions too... how cool would that be?
I talked to Lockheed Martin too (after standing for at least 20-30 min waiting), and that went pretty well too, they've got some math jobs as well as networking and sys admin jobs too.. prolly gonna go to their info session next week, just before comming down to LA.. hopfully that will go well.. heck, I might even get an interview with them before that!
so looks like the job stuffs kinda looking up, got an inside tip from a lockheed guy saying that there are 1200 jobs open corporate-wide, so thats a good thing.. makes me feel better about going to LA's job fair..
oh and at sjsu i ran into mimi, sharons old roomate! i figured chances are i'd see at least one person i knew there.. turns out shes taking classes here and lives in hayward (takes her an hour for the commute everyday!) it was kewl hanging out with her again after the job fair.. all of us, mimi and gracie went to hydration to get boba.. YES, me and 5 girls.. i must have looked like a real pimp since we were all dressed nicely haha.. no NBP tho, albert. took us a while to figure out wat do do afterwards.. we were sitting in the cafe going "so what do u want to do?" "i dunno, what do u wanna do?" "i dont care.. what do u want to do?".. and on and on..
eventually we hung out at gracie's place and decided to eat some hawaiian food at Hukilau that was nearby.. it was pretty good i guess.. dunno how "authentic" it was, but then again, how authentic can you be in japantown?
After dinner I dropped everyone back off... dropping everyone off was a total of 120 miles.. i kno that because i filled gas after dinner and when I got home i had 120 miles on the trip meter.. grace in san jo, jane in sunnyvale... korina in berkeley, and arlo in burlingame.. then me finally in palo alto.. poor maurice! im going to wash him tomorrow before i go to the taping of the show "unscrewed" on TechTv with bananie.. never watched it but im guessing its the geek version of the man show.. this should be interesting..
oh, on the way to berkeley, korina and arlo had to pee so bad that it hurt, so i was weaving all around the san mateo bridge and 880 going 90, looking for gas stations.. we went to 3 of them that had closed bathrooms before we got to one that was letting people use them... by then i had to pee too.. its like their need to pee permeated over to me so i finally went too.. ahh good times =)
