thanks mel for the ecard =)
grace and i watched Bad Education on campus yesterday, directed by pedro almodovar (nominated for best director in the European Film awards).
Celebrated Spanish auteur Pedro Almodovar's latest is a classic film noir set in Madrid, 1960 - 1980. Two kids, Ignacio and Enrique, discover love, cinema and fear in a religious school. Father Manolo, the school principal and their literature teacher, is witness to and part of these discoveries. The three characters meet twice again, at the end of the 70s and in the 80s. The re-encounter will mark the life and death of some of them. In Spanish with English subtitles.
The film was pretty good, it sort of all came together in the end, which is what films should technically do, right? what was interesting too was that i found myself not reading the subtitles as much as i expected to. some of it i understood the language, and some of it you just knew what was going on. good movie, id recommend it if you want to watch something other than the traditional stuff.
We hope to watch National Treasure on tues as well, which looks like it will be kinda like tomb raider with nick cage. hey, cant go wrong with free can we? besides, itll give us old fogies something to do, rite grace?
Benjamin Franklin Gates descends from a family of treasure-seekers who have all hunted for the same thing: a war chest hidden by the Founding Fathers after the Revolutionary War. Ben is close to discovering its whereabouts, as is his competition, but the FBI is also hip to the hunt.
yes, it sounds a lil on the lame side, but i revert to my previous statement.
