breaking the habit

when someone new comes into your life that reminds you of someone from your past, whether they were good or bad, is it fair to prejudge or treat them differently than you normally would? of course its not fair. but its really hard sometimes to *not* prejudge them especially when their likeness with the other person is uncanny.
their look
their style of dress
their sense of humor
the way they talk
the way they act

i've really tried to not let the past influence how i think when it comes to something like this, but for some reason i have more than a few examples of this in the last year or so, and its just plain weird. for people like grace and sue, i've pretty much gotten over the you-remind-me-of-someone-else factor, but it still pops into my head once in a while.

for whoever else that this applies to, i try not to treat them any differently, but that doesnt mean the memories arent still brought back.

i hope some of you can relate, or is it just me that encounters this?
