car show was a fun time, there were some beautiful cars there! and of course, it made me want to buy my new car that much sooner... well, that and i also just got a 2nd urgent offer on my current car...
so i went to santa monica infiniti this weekend to check some out.. and all of the perceptions of car salesmen are true. while waiting for the internet sales manager, 3-4 different salesmen came up to me to ask me "if i had any questions". why am i going to have questions on the car i already know more about than they do? after settling with one salesman, i realized this was even more apparent. he didnt know stuff he really should have known: a standard package for the 06 being an option for the 05, didnt know how the VPP (corporate Vehicle Purchasing Program) worked, he didnt even know about some of the options i "asked" him about. how can someone sell what he doesnt know? furthermore, even the VPP price they quoted me was higher than another quote i got somewhere else, so what would make me buy there? needless to say, i expected much more from this "stealership".
i've decided that i'll wait to get a new car for a bit. maurice is still running well, and i dont make enough right now to have a comfortable financial cushion after mortgage AND a car payment. such a let down, but i suppose its best for now. SoW will have to wait.
